About "MAPS of Life"

I love acronyms and mnemonics, aphorisms and metaphors, analogies and maxims…and puns, poetry, and parables.  I hope to stimulate you to pause and ponder, question and reflect what signposts we use to navigate through life, and the territories we traverse in the fields of language, logic, and love — hence our 'maps' of life.  May you smile at the humour and sketch your own maps of faith, hope, and love.

As a Chinese-Canadian in my sixties who came to Canada in the sixties, I was late to appreciate the true beauty of language and translations.  For much of my life, I focused on diagnostics and logistics as a doctor.  Yet the associated tasks of teaching, both at work and at church, have led me to learn more effective ways of communicating important questions of values and faith in our lives.  Now semi-retired, I want to spend time for my own musings and to share with people who want to join in the conversation to “tell (all) the truth but tell it slant.(Emily Dickinson)
